Please download the zip file then run WinZip, which is a
program on practically all Windows machines. If your machine does not
have a version, it can be obtained from:
http://www.winzip.com/

General EQFlux is designed to run on any computer with Windows 98 or
later. However, it has only been tested with Windows XP. The program
requires that Microsoft's .Net Framework 1.1 be installed. You can check
for
its presence by going to the Start Menu/Control Panel/Administrative
Tools. If you have .Net Framework, it will have associated shortcuts in
the control panel. If you do not, it may be obtained from Microsoft
Windows Update. More general information and downloads related to .Net
Framework can be obtained from:

The program's installer will look for .Net Framework. If it doesn't 
find
it, it will attempt to download it. Due to changing urls, this may not
work. We recommend that you manually download .Net Framework as
described above.

On unzipping, you'll get two folders. one says "copy of General
EQFlux 
Data Files." These are data files you may find of value in using
the
program. The other says "Release."

Open the release folder. Double click the installer icon and follow its
lead.

After the program is installed, you may double click one of the
shortcuts having the "EQ" icon in the usual way. You may then
enter your
own spectra into the program or go to the Copy of General EQFlux Data
Files/Hard Particle Spectra folder and load in one of the two supplied
hard particle spectra.

Known Issues: When running McAfee VirusScan Enterprise 8.0, the drop
down
lists in the combo boxes may not work and the title bar and messages in
message boxes may not display. Please see

for a description of the problem and
fixes.

The use of Control-X, Control-C, and Control-V to cut, copy and
paste 
information to or from General EQFlux may cause uncertain results 
including program lockup. Until the first bug fix, please use the menus 
to accomplish these functions.
